Star Girl

                                                      Summary

Star Girl wanted to be a normal girl after being home schooled for so long, but she wasn't fitting in  well, so she had her boyfriend Leo direct her the right way to becoming popular and normal like any other girl at Mica High.

                               Antagonist and Protagonist Motivations

Protagonist: Star Girl
Motivation: Star Girl always had a positive attitude and no matter how bad things would get, she would always be there to cheer you up or even cheer her whole school up.  She was also always also willing to do something anything for someone at any time of the day.  In my opinion she was the character that was planned the most.  By this i mean you would never know what  she was going to do next, the author probably spent a lot of time deciding on what was going to happen when it happened.  She was the protagonist of the book because of her personality too.  She was bubbly, outgoing, kind, heart warming and many more.  when all of these things add up, you can definetly be safe to say that Star Girl was the Protagonist of her own book.

Antagonist: Popularity, and high school.

Motivation:  Both of these topics about life really make a difference in Star Girl's life.  When these things cross her mind Star Girl has no idea what to do.  This was why she acted differently than all the other girl at Mica High.  All she wanted to do was become popular so all of her strange things were what she had to do to fit in at high school and then become popular.  They make a huge impact on Star Girl's life.  They eventually make her very upset and very confused.  Popularity and high school would be the right choice for the antagonist of the book.
Climax: The climax of the novel is when Star Girl changes her personality to Susan.  This is because no one expects it and it totally shocks the people she is closest with.  To some people like Leo it is an amazing transformation, but to some people like Dori it is an awful thing that Susan had decided to do.  The whole switch to Susan changed her personality to more of a normal teen aged girl.  she has no more liking for helping people with any problem they had in life, as singing happy birthday to students on their birthday, and cheering for the basketball teams.

Outcome: The outcome of this novel is that Susan becomes too wound up about popularity, that she suddenly decided to change back into Star Girl.  She has switched back into the girl that all of Mica High used to know.  Still like before though, no one will even glance at Star Girl.  After much time of thinking something has drawn  Star Girl to her breaking point; one night at one of the dance for Mica High, Hilari Kimble wants nothing to do with Star Girl any longer.  So she has decided to slap her across the face in front of everyone.  Most people would have fought back, but Star Girl simply kissed Hilari on the cheek.  As she left the dance, that was the last time anyone had every heard or seen Star Girl.  So the outcome of this novel is that star Girl left forever without any notice at all.
