Jerry didn't always want to become a writer. At first he wanted to be a cowboy, then a baseball player. He finally decided he wanted to become a writer when he was in eleventh grade.
Jerry's favorite book as a child was " Babar the Elephant."
Jerry's favorite writers are Eileen Spinelli, and Loren Eiseley.
